October 2017 Newsletter

We thank the Lord for blessing us with so many students!   September was a busy time of adjusting for everyone.   October marks the opening of our Friday morning class with Mrs. Kuipers as the teacher.

We had a very enjoyable trip to Apple land Station on the last hot day of the month and have been learning lots about apples at preschool.  We made applesauce this week.

Show and Tell starts this month.  Last year’s students are very excited to be doing this again.

Scholastic Book Orders and Ricco Food orders are due on Monday, Oct. 23 with payment, please.

Mrs. Kuipers has a birthday on Oct. 5!                                    Max turns three on Oct. 28!

Aubree turns three on Oct. 18!                                                  Nora turns three on Oct. 31!

Hugo turns three on Oct. 25!                                                      Kasen turns four on Oct. 31!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our families!   We are so blessed to be involved with your child’s early education!   A REMINDER that Monday, Oct. 9 is a holiday – no preschool class.

We are excited to announce the addition of a new teacher to our staff this month.  Mrs. Heather DeBoer will be doing supply work as well as teaching on Monday mornings with Mrs. Scheele on a regular basis.

Mrs. Denise Armstrong, our Program Assistant from A Child First has been hired by the preschool Board to assist on Tuesdays in addition to Wednesday and Thursday when she is funded by A Child First.   We are thankful for her hard work on behalf of our students!

At our Annual Meeting on Sept. 21, a new Board of Directors was elected.  Kendra Baker is our President, Ashley-Anne Banton is our Vice-President, Rachel VandenHeuvel is our Secretary, Wendy Petch is our Fundraising chairperson, and Jennifer Baan is our member at large.

Because of some severe food allergies among our students, you are not allowed to bring snacks from home.  (except with special permission from Mrs. Scheele)  No dairy, no eggs, no nuts!

Now that the cooler has weather has arrived, please send a jacket or sweater for your child – we try to get outside most days to enjoy our playground!

This month we will be exploring the Season of Fall for the first two weeks and Community Helpers for the next two weeks.    We do not celebrate Halloween at this school.

Planning is already underway for our Annual Christmas Social to be held in the school gymnasium on Friday, Dec. 15 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.   More details to follow!
