December 2017 Newsletter

Wee Creations Christian Preschool      December 2017 Newsletter

So quickly we have come to the end of 2017!    The children have settled in and are happy to come to preschool where they feel welcome and can look forward to learning and playing with other children.

Poinsettia orders are due Dec. 1 and will be delivered on Dec. 15.    If you are planning to attend our Annual Christmas Social, you can pick them up in our classroom.

Annual Christmas Social on Dec. 15 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

In the school gymnasium for preschool students and families.

DON’T FORGET TO LET US KNOW BY DEC. 8 HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ATTENDING FROM YOUR FAMILY.   There is a sign up sheet in the classroom by the sign in sheet.   The children have been practising on the stage for their performance.  Because of our large numbers, the children will go on stage in two groups.  The children will sit with their parents until it is time to come up on stage.           The first group will be students from Monday, Wednesday and Friday class and the second group will be students from the Tuesday and Thursday class.  If your child is in both groups, we ask that you choose one.

Scholastic book orders are due by Dec. 8 so that you will have them by Christmas break.

BIRTHDAYS

Wesley D. turns 3 on Dec. 22!

Levi. V.L. turns 3 on Dec. 23!

Mrs. DeBoer has a birthday on Dec. 27!

The preschool will be closed for two weeks as we take a break to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s with our families.    We plan to reopen on Jan. 8, 2018.

The Board (esp. our VP Ashley Anne Banton) has made plans for an enrichment program for the benefit of our preschoolers and staff for the months of January, February and March.   On a rotating basis, we will be having visits from a dance instructor, librarian, yoga instructor, sports coach, and music instructor.   We are planning it so that every class will have a turn with each visitor.   We anticipate that this will be a great blessing to us through the winter months!

A reminder to send clothes for outdoors.  If you have hat and mittens that you want your child to wear, it is helpful to tuck them in their coat sleeve so that we find them at dressing time.    It takes a long time to get 16 children dressed in winter gear so we are also working on teaching them to do more for themselves.  This will help them when they go to kindergarten also.  We understand that it is quicker and easier as parents to do it for your child, but in the long run you are doing everyone a favour when you teach them to dress themselves.  ** We will not go outside when there is a severe wind chill or icy conditions.

So far, we have not missed any school days due to bad weather.    When busses to Woodstock Christian School are cancelled, the school will be closed for the day.  We are then closed as well.  It will be posted on Facebook and staff will do their best to call all affected families between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m.
